The project

PEAKURBAN provided engineering planning, design and contract administration services for the Ridgeview project. Key aspects of the project included authority negotiations to solve the water and sewer servicing strategy, not completed by the previous supplier prior to our involvement.

Our task

A significant part of our works involved creating a 2km gravity sewer from the site through Council owned reserve to the connection location. We have since negotiated over $1M in credits for the sewer.

The bulk earthworks design for the site resulted in a balance cut to fill solution with retaining wall types and road gradings optimised to minimise construction costs associated with dealing with rock. Following a targeted Geotech investigation involving test pits and seismic testing, we determined the maximum cut depths to be 5m generally and 2m closer to Raynbird Road.

The approvals for the site were undertaken under MBRC’s detailed prelodgement process which resulted in the RAL approval for the first 161 lots being issued in 24 hours.

Subsequent approvals were lodged to MBRC under the MB+ scheme and Unitywater A&C scheme with OPW approvals issued by MBRC in 2 days. This resulted in a substantial time saving to the project and put Satterley 4 months ahead of their forecast program.
